1st Two photos are the very rare Matchbox Series 1-75 Wood and glass store display from 1958. The case contains the complete 1-75 A or first issue of Lesney Matchbox from the 1953 Road Roller #1 to the 1960 Ford Thunderbird #75. Most of this A series are near mint without boxes. Boxes for this group are seen in photo #7 & left row of #8.
Some of the rarer color variants in this case are # 11 Yellow Tanker, #37 Coca Cola Lorry with uneven cast load, # 46 Blue Morris Minor, and #74 White Canteen. 3rd and 4th photos are more A - C/D Matchbox. The call-outs in these two cases of 135 models are the Lipton Tea Trolly, the Lesney Conestoga Wagon with two riders, the Harley, Triumph, Vespa Motorcycles, and Players Please Decal on London bus all on the top row. Also in this case is a Rare Turquoise Mercedes Coach #69 with box in row 7.Look at other case row one and you will see many more A series models from the 50s with metal or gray wheels. In this case there are many prime condition examples and variants to include Blue Bedford #17 removals van on third row, two B series coke Lorries on row 4, three nice campers on row 6, rare Red #56 1500 Fiat on row 7, and nice Blue Pickford Van on bottom row. Again, majority of these model are NM without boxes.
Photos 6-7 are three displays containing 18 vehicles in near mint condition. Esso and BP Gas Stations have their original box.
The rarer vehicles in these photos are the purple Pontiac Convertible # 39 and #13 Thames Wreck truck with both open jib, and closed #13 Thames truck behind it with closed jib lattice. Other photos show rest of collection. New photo 8 shows the boxes.
All boxes that have a marker on them are empty and the model is located elsewhere in the collection. All other boxes contain the model MIB. This photo includes Accessory Pack #5 (Home Store), Accessory Pack #4 (Road signs), and Accessory Pack #1 (Esso signs/pump) in their original boxes.
There is also K-15 in original box. Middle of photo has the A-2 Blue Transporter in NM condition/no box. Photo #9- To the right of the Boxes for the Esso and BP Service station are 26 mint in box vehicles shown together. Same photo shows the Matchbox Collector catalogs from 1959 to 1970. Some include international, US, and German versions.
As stated above, Last photo shows more models to include a NM Green Morris Minor #46A (1 Blue/2 Green in collection) Red Esso Petrol Tanker #11A, and the third silver #74 Canteen. (Collection includes 1 Rare White, and three Silver Canteens).Also included are the R-1 and R-2 Roadway series, 3 NM Esso signs. I have removed the photo of the 1984 Model of Yesteryear Connoisseurs Collection limited to 50,000 sets due to the 12 photo limit, but this set is still included in the collection for sale and You will be receiving set numbered 301.
This Collection includes all displays, display cases, and original packing materials pictured. I can send more photos of collection if requested. I have only seen one other in my 40 years of collecting.
