1940s O Pee Chee Circus Gum Store Counter Display Box Header Card BEYOND RARE

Well, I don't think we'll be seeing another example of this item soon (possibly EVER). 5 3/4 x 5 1/2 inches on sturdy thin cardboard stock, this is the counter display header card that was designed to fit in the box of O Pee Chee's Circus Gum. The bottom 1 1/2 inches is designed to fit into the box tray, as seen in the original marketing photograph that is illustrated in the photos above but is not included as I don't have the vintage photo! I have the actual header card.

I have had this Circus Gum header card for over 40 years! I've never seen another and put this aside decades ago because I thought it was interesting and very rare. It is from the personal collection of legendary hobby icon (and Topps art director) Woody Gelman. There is some paper and glue residue on the blank reverse as that is how Woody saved items like these (mounted in scrapbooks). He saved gum advertising items as a collector, but also for reference/creative inspiration as he designed new products.

I totally made up the price. I think it's within reason considering rarity but I'm just guessing. There is no other example that I have seen to help with pricing. If you are interested but think the price is too high.

I hope whoever buys this Counter store display card also buys the original Circus Gum marketing photo from Imaginaire Store. That is also a prize. Together they would make an extraordinary display (and it is an improbable and almost certainly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity).
