Hubley 852K Indy Car RARE Factory Built Store Display with base & shipping box

I have decided to sell portions of my lifelong Hubley Toy Collection. This listing is for one original unrestored Hubley 852K Indy Car Factory Store Display metal model from the 1959 / 60 era. UPDATE / NOTE: This car has all four of it's factory painted hubcaps. These displays were never offered for sale to the public and not many survived. Out of all the Hubley Store metal model kit store displays, the Indy car is the most rare and the hardest to find and obtain (in any condition).

I have been collecting Hubleys for over 60 years and have only run across three for sale. This is one of those three. There are various unique features found on most Hubley store displays. In this case the chrome-like exhaust pipe is different from what is included in the model kit. The engines are also painted in a very specific way, making it easy to compare to other models that were actually built out of a kit.

The earliest version is the white car (this one), which was later replaced by a blue version in 1960/1961. The 852K model was discontinued after that so they quit making those store displays altogether. This model is missing it's windshield.

You can perform various repairs to toy store displays such as repairing or replacing chrome parts, plastic parts, accessories, etc. Without hurting their originality, but you can't repaint one and still call it original. I have not attempted any repairs or touch-ups to this toy.
