Up for sale is a bit of an antique curiosity. Originally distributed to liquor stores by Jack Daniels, featuring what appear to be facsimile letters to and from the Jack Daniels distillery in Lynchburg Tennessee. The yellowed letters you see are original to the crate and have been lacquered-in with the original finish.
You'll also see various paper labels that were attached to this crate after-the-fact. These labels were distributed as part of a promotion from Jack Daniels about 40 years ago where you could send in some labels and a few dollars and they would send you these old paper labels as well as a nice personalized note. Again, these are applied over the original finish and could be removed if you wanted to do so. Given these labels being distributed about 40 years ago, and the facsimile letters going back to the'teens and looking at the construction of the display, this is likely from the 1950's or so. It's good sturdy construction, and was clearly made to be a display.I currently store an antique guitar on it (stands fit perfectly) and sit my 200lb butt on it without too much concern. Measures 24" tall by 15" x 15. Perfect size for your display or a way to raise up something on the back of your bar. These just don't seem to exist anymore.
