RARE Merkle's Blu-J Antique Country Store Broom Display w 2 Brooms NICE
This antique Blu-J Broom display is a beautiful piece of American history! Used as a store display, this rack is made of metal with two embossed tin signs placed on opposite sides of each other.
The top bar reads "Try A Merkle Blu-J Broom" with the tin signs reading Saves Rugs Carpets And Labor. There is a depiction of a blue jay bird standing on top of a broom.
The Largest Broom Factory In The World. This Blu-J Broom floor display is from the 1920's.
It measures 34" tall by 23" wide by 10 deep. The 2 embossed painted tin signs have nice color and graphics. There is some discoloration to the signs and loss of color to one sign, but it really just adds to the character and shows the true age of this piece. The display has some light surface rust here and there, and one leg has more rust than the others, but still has the original dark green paint and original lettering.
The four original swing-away stabilizing feet are still tucked in. One of the upper broom holders is missing, but luckily it was not repaired poorly, which seems to be common with these displays! Overall this display is in remarkable condition and would make a great addition to a country store collection, broom display, history museum, or anything you choose! Also included are two lovely Blu-J brooms! One appears to be unused, and the other only lightly used.
