Presented here is a fine surviving working HELP! The display was created by Capitol Records for use in select record outlets to promote the soundtrack for the 1965 film, which quickly went to #1 on the Billboard chart. This display comes comeplete with a rudimentary electric motor and is patterned after a "jack-in-the-box" where the motor activates the lid, revealing four Beatles' hands reaching out and then retracting as the lid closes.
Attached to each hand is a wrist band with a different letter spelling out H-E-L-P. The sacrificial ring central to the film's plot is attached to Ringo's hand. The front of the display has an original Capitol Records HELP! Albcum cover slick attached, while the back side has the back cover slick attached. In the fully-opened position, the display is 32 inches tall. Accompanied by a reproduction of the original instruction sheet. The display in in superb working condition. The oversized and multi-part displays of this era were fragile and store owners usually discarded them because of their size. The ones that have survived were mainly salvaged by fans and thus finding them today both intact and in working condition is quite uncommon. Look closely at the pictures, you will see The Beatles book ended by this very display at the Capital Records launch of HELP!An EXTREMELY Rare item that would be the centerpiece in any Beatles collection. Please contact me with any questions. Would be happy to send video as well. Good Luck & Happy Collecting.
